The City of Saint-Lin-Laurentides adopted its Seniors' Policy in in 2018, thereby responding to different issues related to safety, health and social services, housing, transportation, development planing, social and recreational life and communications.
City’s commitments towards senior citizens
- Creating safe areas and crossings for pedestrian in downtown and on major roads.
- Provide adapted parking spaces near some of the buildings and parks, thus always facilitating their accessibility.
- Create rest areas in green spaces, throughout the city.
- Remove snow from selected central parks during the winter to encourage seniors to to stay active during this time.
- Multifunctional dome sheltering the petanque court at the pavillon Desjardins.
- Installation of sports and and recreational facilities specifically for seniors in selected municipal parks.
- Advise seniors of affordable «taxi-bus» transportation services, how it works and how to book it.
- Promote information about local organizations such as le CAB de Montcalm that offers legal and medical transportation services to seniors and the procedures to become a member.
